This privacy policy explains how I collect, use, and protect any personal information when you use Good AI Guide (goodaiguide.com), in accordance with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

2. What Data I Collect and Why

2.1 Server Log Files

The website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare automatically collects and stores information that your browser automatically transmits. This includes:

• IP address
• Browser type and browser version
• Operating system used
• Referrer URL (the previously visited page)
• Time of the server request

This data is technically necessary to display the website to you and to guarantee its stability and security. It is not merged with other data sources.

2.2 Newsletter

If you subscribe to my newsletter, you must provide a valid email address. I use this exclusively to send you the requested newsletter.

The newsletter service is provided by Buttondown. Buttondown is a privacy-first newsletter service. When you subscribe, your email address is transmitted to Buttondown and stored on their servers. You can read Buttondown's privacy policy at buttondown.email/legal/privacy.

You can revoke your consent to the storage of the data, the email address, and their use for sending the newsletter at any time via the "unsubscribe" link in every newsletter.

3. Cookies and Local Storage

I do not use tracking cookies. I do not use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or any other third-party tracking software to monitor your behavior.

The website uses the browser's localStorage to remember preferences and progress you've actively chosen: your display theme (light, dark, or sepia) and reading settings, your AI Fluency Quiz result, and which items you've ticked on the AI Fluency Checklist. This data is kept entirely on your device, is never transmitted to any server, and is strictly necessary to provide the functionality you requested. You can clear it at any time — use the "Reset progress" button on the checklist, or clear your browser's site data.

When you create an AI Fluency Certificate, the name you type is used only inside your browser to render the certificate. It is not stored and is never sent to me or anyone else. Adding the credential to LinkedIn opens LinkedIn's own form, where any sharing is your choice and governed by LinkedIn's privacy policy.

4. Third-Party Services and Links

This website contains links to external, third-party websites (e.g., AI tools, LinkedIn). I have no influence on the content or privacy practices of these external sites. When you click a link and leave this site, you should read the privacy policy of the respective website.

Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you click on an affiliate link and make a purchase or sign up, I may earn a commission. These links do not track your behavior on my site, but the destination site will know you arrived via my link.
