This privacy policy explains how I collect, use, and protect any personal information when you use Good AI Guide (goodaiguide.com), in accordance with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

2. What Data I Collect and Why

2.1 Server Log Files

The website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare automatically collects and stores information that your browser automatically transmits. This includes:

• IP address
• Browser type and browser version
• Operating system used
• Referrer URL (the previously visited page)
• Time of the server request

This data is technically necessary to display the website to you and to guarantee its stability and security. It is not merged with other data sources.

2.2 Newsletter

If you subscribe to my newsletter, you must provide a valid email address. I use this exclusively to send you the requested newsletter.

The newsletter service is provided by Buttondown. Buttondown is a privacy-first newsletter service. When you subscribe, your email address is transmitted to Buttondown and stored on their servers. You can read Buttondown's privacy policy at buttondown.email/legal/privacy.

You can revoke your consent to the storage of the data, the email address, and their use for sending the newsletter at any time via the "unsubscribe" link in every newsletter.

3. Cookies and Local Storage

I do not use tracking cookies. I do not use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or any other third-party tracking software to monitor your behavior.

The website uses the browser's localStorage to remember your preferences and your progress: your display theme (light, dark, or sepia), reading settings and the view you picked on the models page; your AI Fluency Quiz result; which items you've ticked on the AI Fluency Checklist; which certificate checks you've passed (the check, the date and your score, never your name); and your saves in the games: the Company Simulator, its second version Out of Office, and Gradient Descent, plus your top 5 scores and sound setting in Splash Olympics. If you pick a language with the language switcher, a cookie called gag-lang remembers that choice. Your browser sends it with each visit so the start page can open in your language; it holds only the language code. Everything else stays on your device and is never sent to a server. All of it is strictly necessary for the functionality you asked for, and none of it is used for tracking.

When you create an AI Fluency Certificate, the name you type is used only inside your browser to render the certificate. It is not stored and is never sent to me or anyone else. Adding the credential to LinkedIn opens LinkedIn's own form, where any sharing is your choice and governed by LinkedIn's privacy policy.

3.1 See and delete what's stored in your browser

The box below shows what this site has stored in this browser right now. You can reset your progress, or delete everything including your settings. You can also clear the site's data in your browser settings at any time.

4. Third-Party Services and Links

This website contains links to external, third-party websites (e.g., AI tools, LinkedIn). I have no influence on the content or privacy practices of these external sites. When you click a link and leave this site, you should read the privacy policy of the respective website.

This site may contain affiliate links (the About page says whether it currently does), and each one is labeled where it appears. If you click on an affiliate link and make a purchase or sign up, I may earn a commission. These links do not track your behavior on my site, but the destination site will know you arrived via my link.

Under applicable data protection laws, you have the right to:
