My take

Claude Code is the tool that made me rethink what's possible with AI. I use it to build and maintain this entire website — writing components, managing content, deploying changes. It's like having a senior developer on hand who already knows the whole codebase. What surprised me is how much a non-developer can get done with it once you stop treating it as autocomplete and start giving it real tasks.

Claude Code is Anthropic’s agentic coding tool, and it changes how software gets built for me. It goes well past autocomplete: it reads your entire codebase, understands context, plans changes, executes them, runs tests, and iterates until things work. All through natural language.

What makes Claude Code different

Most AI coding tools work at the level of individual files or code snippets. Claude Code operates at the level of your entire project. It understands how files relate to each other, follows your project’s conventions, and makes changes that are consistent with your existing codebase.

Codebase understanding: Reads and comprehends your entire project structure
Autonomous execution: Makes changes, runs commands, and iterates based on results. Since 7 August 2026, auto mode is the default on Pro, Max and Team
Git workflow integration: Commits, creates PRs, reviews code, and even fixes CI errors automatically

This website — goodaiguide.com — is built and maintained entirely through Claude Code. Every component, every page, every resource entry. The workflow is simple: I describe what I want in natural language, and Claude Code writes the code, tests it, and commits the changes. No CMS, no admin panel, no manual HTML editing.

For non-developers

Claude Code is genuinely usable by non-developers. If you can describe what you want in plain language, it can build it. Want a simple tool for your team? A personal website? An automation script? You don’t need to know how to code. You need to know how to describe what you want.

GitHub integration

Claude Code integrates deeply with GitHub. You can tag @Claude on pull requests to get code reviews, and it monitors PRs in the background and automatically fixes CI errors. At that point it’s less a coding assistant and more a participant in the workflow.

The IDE experience

Native extensions for VS Code and JetBrains IDEs bring Claude Code into your existing development environment. Sessions stay synced across CLI, desktop, web, and mobile — start a task in your terminal and check progress from your phone.

Who should use Claude Code

For heavy use, Claude Max ($100-200/month) provides substantially more capacity, and now includes monthly API credits ($100 on Max 5x, $200 on Max 20x). Claude Code isn’t available on the Free plan.
