My favorite AI for most tasks. I use the standard Claude for conversations, and I get the most out of it in agentic setups: Claude Code for autonomous coding, Claude Cowork for longer workflows. This website is built and maintained entirely through Claude Code. Five stars, no contest.

Claude by Anthropic is my top-rated AI assistant, and the gap between it and the competition has only widened with the introduction of agentic capabilities. It’s more than a chatbot: it’s a professional tool that can think, plan, and execute.

What makes Claude stand out

The quality of reasoning is unmatched. Claude follows complex, multi-step instructions without losing the thread. If you’re working on product specifications, analyzing business data, or writing detailed documents, Claude consistently produces higher-quality output than the competition.

The 1M-token context window means you can paste in entire documents, codebases, or research papers and have a meaningful conversation about them. That’s not just a spec-sheet number. It genuinely changes how you can work with AI.

Claude Code: the real standout

Claude Code is what takes Claude from a great chatbot to a tool I rely on daily. It’s an agent that runs in your terminal, the desktop app, your code editor and even your phone, and it can read your entire codebase, understand context, make meaningful changes, run tests, and iterate until things work. I use it to build and maintain this very website, from writing components to managing content to deploying changes.

For non-developers, this is particularly powerful: you can describe what you want in plain language, and Claude Code will write, test, and refine the code for you. It’s the closest thing to having a senior developer on call 24/7.

Claude Cowork: agentic workflows

Claude Cowork takes things further with agentic workflows where Claude works autonomously on complex tasks. In the Claude app it’s a toggle next to Chat: a chat lives in one conversation, Cowork works with a whole project or folder. Instead of a back-and-forth, you give Claude a brief and let it research, plan, and execute, checking in with you when it needs input. It’s a real shift in how much you can hand off in one go.

Who should use Claude

If you’re a professional who needs AI for thinking, writing, analysis, or coding — especially if you want to go beyond simple chat interactions — Claude should be your first choice. The Pro plan at $20/month is exceptional value.

Who should look elsewhere

If you primarily need image generation or want the broadest possible feature set in a single interface, ChatGPT might be more convenient. Claude is best when you need depth, reliability, and the ability to work agentic.
