What you’ll find
The platform is organized by audience: work, education, small business, nonprofits, government and news. The courses include “Apply AI at Work”, “Build with AI” (Codex and the API), “Lead AI Adoption” and “Teach and learn with AI”. There are also live events, and replays of the Codex bootcamp that you can watch on demand.
The prompting guides are practical. They cover techniques like few-shot examples, role assignment, and output formatting — the basics that make a real difference in daily use. If you’ve been using ChatGPT by just typing whatever comes to mind, these guides will show you what you’re missing.
Where it shines and where it doesn’t
OpenAI Academy works best as a starting point. The courses are well-organized and the progression makes sense — you won’t get lost jumping between topics. For someone who’s been using ChatGPT casually for months, an afternoon here will meaningfully improve your results.
