Wispr Flow is the AI dictation tool that finally made me stop typing for most of my daily writing. Built by ex-Apple and Meta engineers, it doesn’t transcribe your words literally. It works out what you meant and hands back clean, polished text.
Why it’s different from built-in dictation
Your Mac and iPhone have dictation built in. It’s decent for short messages but frustrating for anything longer: you get every “um” and “uh,” the formatting is wrong, and it breaks down with complex sentences. Wispr Flow is a big step up.
The AI processing does several things simultaneously:
- Removes verbal clutter — “um,” “uh,” “like,” “you know” disappear automatically
