My take
I barely type anymore. Wispr Flow is good enough that I can whisper and it still understands me, in multiple languages, and it works on my phone and both my computers. It's one of the few tools that changed how I get through a day of writing. And its meeting note taker is excellent: in my tests it beat every other note taker I've used. Five stars.

Wispr Flow is the AI dictation tool that finally made me stop typing for most of my daily writing. It doesn’t transcribe your words literally. It works out what you meant and hands back clean, polished text.
Why it’s different from built-in dictation
Your Mac and iPhone have dictation built in. It’s decent for short messages but frustrating for anything longer: you get every “um” and “uh,” the formatting is wrong, and it breaks down with complex sentences. Wispr Flow is a big step up.
The AI processing does several things simultaneously:
- Removes verbal clutter — “um,” “uh,” “like,” “you know” disappear automatically
- Handles corrections naturally — Say “Let’s meet tomorrow, no wait, Friday” and it outputs “Let’s meet Friday”
- Adapts formatting — It writes casually for Slack, professionally for email, and formally for documents
- Works in many languages — Over 100 of them
The whispering test
The feature that genuinely surprised me: you can whisper and it still understands you. That means an open office, a train, or late at night without disturbing anyone. The accuracy at whisper volume is what sold me.
The speed gains are real
Most people speak several times faster than they type, and Wispr Flow turns that into text you rarely have to fix. Wispr’s own claim is four times faster than the keyboard. Your number will depend on how much you write, but the time you save doesn’t get eaten back up by corrections.
Meeting notes, too
Since August 2026 Wispr Flow also takes meeting notes. Notetaker records your meetings in Zoom, Google Meet, Teams or a Slack huddle on the Mac and on Windows, and gives you a transcript with names, a summary and next steps. In my tests it beat every other note taker I’ve used. The free plan includes it with a weekly limit.
At our company it keeps spreading: more and more devices run Wispr Flow, and the note taker is a big part of why.
Multilingual support
Wispr Flow supports over 100 languages. If you work across languages, as many European professionals do, that’s a big deal. It can detect the language itself, though Wispr recommends picking the language you’re speaking for the best accuracy.
Privacy
Your voice goes to Wispr’s cloud for processing, which is the trade-off against an on-device tool like Superwhisper. Wispr says it holds SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 certifications, supports HIPAA requirements, and never sells user data. Check that against your company’s rules before you dictate anything confidential.
Who should use Wispr Flow
Anyone who writes a lot through the day. Emails, messages, documents, notes, code comments, all of it can be dictated instead of typed. The free tier (2,000 words a week on the computer) is enough to try it properly; Pro costs $15 a month, or $12 a month billed annually. Once you get used to it, typing starts to feel slow.
